We are excited to announce our first ever Devconnect Scholars Program!
The Devconnect Scholars Program will provide talented, value-aligned individuals from communities currently geographically and demographically underrepresented on Ethereum with financial support to attend. Defconnect in Istanbul November this year.

Why the program exists and program details
For Ethereum to be a resilient and thriving protocol for human coordination – in the long term and for all humans – we believe more diverse perspectives representing different geographies and demographics are needed.
Researchers are expected to bring their unique perspectives and experiences to conversations in Devconnect that help shape the future of Ethereum. After Devconnect, they will apply what they’ve learned to their communities to push the boundaries of Ethereum.
Program details
Devconnect Scholars will receive financial support for transportation, accommodation, per diem, and visa application. In addition, there will be online and in-person meetings for researchers to get to know each other, learn and prepare for the best experience in Istanbul.
selection criteria
- We are looking for individuals with experience and/or knowledge in… Protocol development, web3 development, privacy, security, cryptoeconomics, user experience, and governance.
- Applicants must be a member of a community that is currently underrepresented on Ethereum. We identify underrepresented communities in two main categories:
- geography: Applicants from countries that do not have representation in Ethereum, as well as applicants from Türkiye and neighboring countries.
- Population: Applicants who are a minority in terms of gender, race, or other demographic identity are currently underrepresented on Ethereum.
- Individuals who are Unable to attend Devconnect without financial support Are eligible to apply.
- Applicants Must be able to attend Devconnect November 13-192023.
- Applicants You must be able to communicate in English.
- Requires software A time commitment of about two hours per week From September to November 2023.
- Strong preference will be given to applicants who have not yet attended a large Ethereum conference (500+ people).
