TOKYO (Reuters) – U.S. private equity firm Blackstone (NYSE: ) and MBK Partners said on Wednesday that Japanese drugmaker Allinamine Pharmaceuticals is being sold to a North Asian buyout fund.
The deal will be worth 350 billion yen ($2.17 billion), a source said on Tuesday, but neither Blackstone nor MBK disclosed the value of the deal in their separate statements.
Blackstone acquired Alinamin in 2020 from Takeda Pharmaceuticals in what it called Japan’s largest healthcare deal.
Blackstone said it will reinvest an indirect minority stake in Alinamin upon closing of the deal.
