NEW YORK (Reuters) – Citigroup Inc. has urged a judge to dismiss a lawsuit by a former executive who alleges the bank fired her in retaliation for refusing to provide false information to regulators. Citigroup Inc. said Kathleen Martin’s firing was lawful because she lacked the leadership and engagement skills needed for her job, according to a lawsuit filed late Thursday in Manhattan federal court. It also said her allegations about the bank’s data governance metrics were false and, even if true, the allegations she made were not protected by federal whistleblower law.
