The Ethereum Foundation (EF) was created to help the Ethereum ecosystem thrive, and there are still many discoveries to be made about what Ethereum can do for the world. That’s why we support individuals who have the power to unlock parts of the Ethereum story that remain unwritten.
DEFCON Scholars Program We provided support to facilitate access to Devcon for 50 individuals who we believe have the potential to make a positive impact on Ethereum and its community, but who were unable to attend without financial assistance.
the program
We have selected individuals whose presence would enrich Devcon and the ecosystem. Scientists were selected based on their prior experience and vision for contributing to Ethereum.
Scientists are provided with programming and resources to prepare them for Devcon, such as “learning sessions” with leaders in the Ethereum community. During Devcon, researchers created their own experience by choosing which talks and events they wanted to attend, which you can learn more about below.
50% of the group was from Latin America. In addition, 70% of scientists attended the ETHBogota hackathon and many of them won awards.

to infinity and beyond
Our vision for the Devcon Scholars Program was to plant new seeds in… Endless garden: To support builders who contribute to the Ethereum ecosystem across geographies and disciplines. We surveyed researchers to gather feedback on the program, and after their time in Bogotá, participants now feel well-equipped to make valuable contributions to Ethereum and its future.
With this combination, we are confident that its impact will be felt across the ecosystem now and for years to come. This is just the beginning.
This is the future we will build together! 🦄
