Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin shared his predictions and benchmarks for the future of Ethereum wallets.
Vitalik Buterin saw user experience, security, privacy, light client consensus, and artificial intelligence as five focus areas for Ethereum (Ethereum) Wallet developers. According to December 3 Blog postButerin is confident that the wallet user experience will improve through simplified transactions via Layer 2 of ETH and improved gas payments for swap implementation.
He added that standardizing ETH payments and cross-chain transactions using QR codes will encourage greater blockchain adoption.
Buterin said construction companies should strengthen security using multi-signature technology and social recovery to combat bad actors and malicious activities. Social recovery in the context of account stripping has been a major talking point for Ethereum and other decentralized networks as cryptocurrencies attract mainstream attention.
Buterin also argued that deploying zero-knowledge identity management models would also enhance wallet security. ZK technology allows users and innovators to verify information without revealing sensitive details.
Also, the veteran blockchain founder suggested leveraging ZK tools to power private transfers, unlock privacy pooling technology, and support off-chain data storage.
Furthermore, he suggested adopting lightweight client consensus verification and on-chain content versioning to reduce Web2 risks. According to the blog post, these features could be implemented using existing resources and eventually harmonize Ethereum wallet interoperability with future AI interfaces, which Buterin said is still in its infancy.
These more extreme ideas are based on technology that is very immature today, so I would not put my assets today in a portfolio that relies on them. However, it seems very clear that something like this is the future, and so it is worth starting to explore more actively in this direction.
