Wild. Biden proposed a three-stage plan for peace in the Middle East:
- The first stage: a complete ceasefire and withdrawal of Israeli forces from populated areas in Gaza. The Palestinians will return to their homes. During the first phase, Israel and Hamas will negotiate a second phase that would permanently end hostilities.
- The second phase, in exchange for the release of all remaining living hostages, will see the withdrawal of Israeli forces
- The third phase will be a major reconstruction plan for Gaza
Biden says that Hamas no longer has the ability to carry out another event on October 7
Israel responded by saying that Pres. Biden does not understand the reality here, and his speech is weak and represents a victory for Hamas
