Haward Schultz of Starbucks made the term “third place” part of the national vocabulary. While building a coffee chain, he wanted to be a place in a place that could spend time when they were not at work or home.
Third place has a deep tradition in Europe, whether it is Italy cafes or England bars.

People need a place to meet where they can relax and communicate with friends and build a community. Third place, especially in a smaller society, becomes a kind of actual society.
In the small town where I grew up, Swampscott, Massachusetts, the local Dunkin worked as a center for society for decades. If you can find AA parking space, you will enter a store where the old time has occupied the same tables since the dawn of time and the younger people fall to pay their respect (and seize iced coffee).

Swampscott now has Starbucks, but “Dunkies” is still the heart of the city, which is its third place where gossip is shared, celebrations are made and people maintain their prayers. If the series closes this site, it will be a deep loss for society because the store serves a vital function that exceeds the caffeine, the local population.
In a more rural town (Swampscott does not exceed three square miles, but it is full of jam) the loss of third place can be destroyed. This is something that many societies are witnessing now as the distinctive ice cream series closes hundreds of sites.
The Queen of Dairy sites are closed
“The Last Picure Show” tells the story of the small city of Texas, which is losing its cinematic theater. The Queen of Dairy, while she was not already mentioned by name, plays an important role in the movie.
It is the clear “third place” for society, and while the city in that literary classic is fictional, the Queen of Dairy fills this role in hundreds of similar realistic societies.
Over the past few months, it has closed about 30 Queen Dairy sites in Texas. This closure, it is worth noting, is the result of a dispute between the parent company and the Lonestar project, the owner of the concession.
A spokesman for the Queen of Dairy said about Gains. “Close operations are an isolated event, and we publicly refrain from the terms of the contract.”
Basically, the father, the American Queen of Dairy, withdrew the privileges from Lonestar after failing to redesign them. This means that these sites cannot require supplies and will have to be closed.

Lonestar prevented the sale of sites, forcing it to close the dairy queen’s sites.
Project Lionestar simultaneously had 38 Queen Dairy sites.
Ice cream series has a long history as a third position
While any society will be sad to see its dairy queen, this closure reaches difficulty. Most of them are in the small cities of Texas, where the ice cream series fills the third place.
“It is an effect on our culture, at all,” said Rimmel Farrar, the interim director of the local economic development company in Canadian, a town with about 2,300 in the northern part of Texas. Yonder daily I mentioned.
Dairy queens were closed in smaller cities where the company’s total imprint shrinkled.
“In Canadian, a town whose economy has been supported over the years through livestock, exploring nearby oil and gas, and tourism, there are many restaurants that are locally managed,” the Daily Yander newspaper reported.
“But the Queen of Dairy is still an important space for gathering,” Farar told the site.
About half of the Queen dairy site was closed in the towns of less than 3000 people.
