When I look at the July seasons, there is not much in the forex market. The patterns are simple and the moves are small as summer complacency sets in.
However, there is one thing that stands out: US stocks.
The S&P 500 has risen for eight straight years in July with an average gain of more than 3%. Going back to the turn of the century, it’s not as strong but it’s still the third best month.
Furthermore, the first few days of the month — the week of July 4 — are historically among the strongest days of the year.

Other information (since 2000):
- Not as strong for DAX (average month) and Nikkei (negative)
- Second best month for copper
- Fourth Worst Month for Dollar Index
- Fourth best month for EUR/USD
- The strongest month for silver (but not gold)
