The Las Vegas Strip added a massive and stunning venue in 2023 when U2 opened the Sphere Entertainment concert. (SPHR) Sphere will host a live concert titled U2: UV Achtung Baby on September 29 at their Sphere residence.
U2 has extended its residency, originally scheduled for 25 shows, to 40 shows and ended its historic initial engagement at the Sphere on March 2, 2024.

When U2 started selling tickets for their concert at the Sphere, rumors were swirling that the former One Direction member and Famous solo artist Harry Styles Styles could be the next artist to take up residence at the Sphere after U2’s departure. The Sun reports that Styles has been offered $50 million to stay at the new venue.
Styles’ stay never materialized, but another rumor that was floating around at the same time became a reality.
Instead of Styles, the famous Jam band Fish follows U2 The exciting venue will play four shows on April 18, 19, 20 and 21. The band’s website says these will be the band’s only shows at the Sphere in 2024.
Rumors have started to circulate again about the next artist to perform at the Sphere, but an apparent successor to Phish has signed on to be the third artist to perform at the Sphere.
Ultimate Jam Band Dead & Company have arrived at Sphere. On the Las Vegas Strip on May 16 for a 30-show run, performing three shows over 10 weekends as part of her “Dead Forever Live at Sphere Las Vegas” residency.
It was as if Phish were the opening act for Dead & Company. It was the perfect setting for Grateful Dead veterans Bob Weir and Mickey Hart.

Dead & Company, the Grateful Dead sub-group that wrapped up its final concert tour at Oracle Park in San Francisco on July 16, 2023, will close out its first residency at the Las Vegas Sphere on August 10.
Tickets for the show’s finale range from about $106 to $296 through Ticketmaster.com.

Dead & Company fans at Sphere will enjoy the world’s tallest LED screen that covers the audience on all sides to create a fully immersive visual environment, according to the Sphere website. Sphere also features the world’s most advanced sound system, Sphere Immersive Sound.
Formed in 2015, Dead & Company has completed 10 tours and 235 shows attended by over 4 million fans.
Dead & Company’s August 10 show may be their last at The Sphere for a while as legendary rock band The Eagles have signed up to reside at the Sphere for 20 shows on five weekend nights each month from September 20 through January 25, 2025.
It’s still unknown who the next singer or band will join the Sphere program. However, Sphere Entertainment is considering investing $80 million to present an 80-minute version of “The Wizard of Oz” on Sphere, the New York Post reported.
This production is likely to be presented when resident shows are not being shown.
A Casino.org poll of 3,000 people in early 2024 found that the top three favorite artists to perform at the Sphere were Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, and Coldplay. Lady Gaga was the only one who expressed interest in performing anytime soon, but she is likely to return with a new show at Park MGM in the next year or so.
