Wall Street is coming off a strong session as investors assess whether stocks can continue their momentum into the second half of 2024. Investors are looking ahead to a key speech from Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell as well as the May jobs report. All of this comes ahead of the highly anticipated June jobs report on Friday.
In other news – A British company is looking to revolutionize the electric vehicle charging market. Newbolt, based in Cambridge, England, has developed a battery that takes just four and a half minutes to charge from 10% to 80%. That’s around 75% faster than current chargers, such as Tesla’s Supercharger.
The CEO of Newbolt says he believes the technology could be ready for use sooner than you think, saying: “Our extensive research here in the UK and US has opened the door to a new battery technology that is now ready and scalable. We are enabling the electrification of new products and services that are currently considered unviable or impossible.”

According to the North American Charging Standard, 75% of fast chargers in North America are made by Tesla. Nearly all U.S. automakers have committed to manufacturing electric vehicles compatible with Tesla technology.
But that shouldn’t deter Newbolt, whose CEO says his company’s battery is also compatible with Tesla’s technology.
That’s all for your daily briefing. From the New York Stock Exchange, I’m Conway Gittins with TheStreet.
