According to a report by Counterpoint Research, Samsung’s Galaxy S24 (KS:) series dominated the AI smartphone market in the first quarter of this year.
The company said the latest research from its global phone model sales tracker shows that smartphones equipped with GenAI technology contributed 6% to global smartphone sales in the first quarter of 2024, a strong increase from just 1.3% in the previous quarter.
Meanwhile, Counterpoint said: “Samsung’s Galaxy S24 series has dominated the GenAI smartphone market.” This model took the top three places in the top ten list of best-selling smartphones equipped with GenAI technology.
It was the best-selling smartphone equipped with GenAI technology, capturing a market share of more than 30%, more than the combined share of the next two smartphones, according to the company.
They highlighted Samsung’s aggressive marketing campaign and established global presence as factors helping the brand gain a 58% share of the GenAI segment.
GenAI features such as chat/feedback assistance, search carousel, and live translation are said to be gaining traction with users and receiving positive initial reviews.
