London, United Kingdom, October 22 – The Ethereum Foundation is pleased to announce a keynote speaker for the annual Ethereum Conference. DΞVCON1, Nick Szabo. Nick’s keynote will focus on the history of blockchain, smart contracts, and assets on the blockchain.
Nick is a computer scientist, legal researcher, and cryptographer known for his research on digital contracts and digital currency. The phrase and concept of “smart contracts” was developed by Szabo with the aim of incorporating contract law into programming protocols on the Internet.
Recently, Szabo compared the use of smart contracts on Ethereum in relation to the Bitcoin blockchain, saying: “If you want to have a flexible, general-purpose programming environment like programmers have been used to since at least the 1950s, you’ll want this.” Use Ethereum because it has a Turing complete language and large state. I sometimes make a pocket calculator comparison [Bitcoin] Versus, for example, a general-purpose computer [Ethereum].“
Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin noted, “We are thrilled to welcome Nick to DΞVCON1. “His pioneering work in smart contracts and the development of blockchain technology will add an extremely valuable perspective to the conference.”
DΞVCON1 will be held from November 9 to 13 at Gibson Hall in London, UK. It will include five days of presentations and technical events on basic research and protocols, decentralized application (dApp) development, and industrial and social impacts.
Ethereum It is a decentralized blockchain protocol that implements smart contracts: applications that run exactly as they were programmed without any possibility of downtime, censorship, fraud, or third-party interference.
Ethereum It’s the way the Internet was supposed to work.
