    Nomura expects a suspension decision from the Bank of England today, and the pound will not move

    The Bank of England’s Monetary Policy Committee meets on Thursday 20 June 2024.

    The times below are GMT, with the Bank of England scheduled to announce its decision at 1100 GMT, which is 0700 EDT (note: the SNB decision is scheduled for 0730 GMT/0330 EDT).

    Nomura expects no interest rate change from the Bank of England:

    • Domestic data is not weak enough for the Bank of England to start its interest rate cutting cycle yet

    Analysts at the bank remain bullish on sterling, but do not expect the Bank of England to move sterling much today.
