Solana is ranked as the fastest growing blockchain in terms of new cryptocurrency developers, with double-digit growth in one year.
According to the electric capital a report On December 12, Solana (Sol) is the number one blockchain for new cryptocurrency developers, with annual growth of 83%, surpassing the world’s largest blockchain, Ethereum (Ethereum).
The report found that 7,625 out of 39,148 new developers this year were using Solana as their first blockchain. This number was surpassed by Ethereum with 6,456 new developers and other blockchain groups with 3,383. This trend has been increasing every year since a few years ago.
“July 2024: Solana becomes the first ecosystem to have more developers than Ethereum since 2016,” the report says.
The emerging blockchain remains the second largest ecosystem on every continent. In the Asia region, Solana nearly upended Ethereum, with more than 20% adoption this year.
Meanwhile, Ethereum continues to exist as the leading ecosystem with the highest number of monthly active developers on every continent. Ethereum was dominant in the Americas and Europe regions, with adoption at over 25% per month.
Along with Base, blockchain also records the lowest fee use case for NFTs and also holds 64% of NFT mint transactions. in Direct implementation usage, they also accounted for 81% of transactions and have the highest number of unique trading portfolios among others.
Solana is India’s premier ecosystem
In the report, India registered a huge number of new developers for this ecosystem and upended Ethereum and Base (a base). This number shows how Asian countries are an emerging market for Solana.
Shares of new developers in India also jumped to 17% in the first category, followed by the United States with a decrease of 3%. China, Canada and Nigeria saw growth, but not in large numbers.
Ethereum is still dominant in many other major countries, including the United States UKChina and Canada.
