We’re excited to start off this new year by sharing an update that’s not just about revealing the location and date of Devcon 7, but also about an exciting expansion of our vision. This year, we’re embracing the entire Southeast Asia region as our community gathering stage! Why? Read on to find out!
First and foremost, thank you for your patience amidst the hype and speculation about where we will go next. after Unforgettable time in Bogotá For Defcon VI, We have made the decision to schedule Devcon 7 for 2024. One of the main reasons for this decision was our desire to increase the impact of Devcon on the regional Ethereum communities. The additional time allows us to engage more comprehensively with these local communities, providing support and empowerment in a more meaningful way.
We are now ready to make Devcon 7 a more comprehensive and regionally focused event, and to reflect this vision, we will call it “Devcon Southeast Asia”, rather than referring to the name of the host city.
With this context and new insight in mind, let’s dive into the juicy details!

We are excited to announce that Devcon 7 will be held from November 12-15 in the vibrant city of Bangkok, Thailand 🥳🎉, in a spirit that will resonate throughout Southeast Asia over the coming year.

The Ethereum community in Southeast Asia has great potential, which is evident in the rapidly growing adoption of cryptocurrencies. Vietnam, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Thailand top the list of countries Global Crypto Adoption IndexThis highlights the region’s pivotal role in the global Ethereum landscape.
Southeast Asia is a melting pot of diverse cultures, rich history and communities, and our goal is to include all of Southeast Asia in the Devcon experience. From the bustling streets of Kuala Lumpur to the stunning landscapes of Bali, from the tech hub of Singapore to the historical charm of Vietnam, this area is buzzing with energy. Bangkok, with its unique blend of tradition and modernity, is an ideal location in terms of convenience and global accessibility.
🛤 Road to Devcon: Our journey so far 🛤
Over the past months, we have started Road to Devcon (RTD) grant round. This initiative was born out of our commitment to supporting the emergence of new Ethereum events, grassroots communities, and educational endeavors throughout Southeast Asia. We are happy to see enthusiasm and innovative proposals pouring in from Indonesia, Cambodia, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, the Philippines, Vietnam, and other Southeast Asian neighbors.
To everyone we’ve supported so far, a big shout out! Your projects and efforts have paved the way for the Ethereum community in Southeast Asia. For those in Southeast Asia who have community ambitions, we encourage you to do so Apply for a small sponsorship And contribute to shaping the ecosystem.
What makes Devcon special at its core is our diverse and ever-evolving community. As we set our sights on Devcon 7, we’re looking for continued community engagement. From the sea to every corner of the globe, we want to hear from you.
