Today we are excited to announce The Devcon Scholars Program is back, an EF initiative to help important Ethereum creators overcome obstacles to attending Devcon. Read below to find out if the Devcon Scholars program is right for you, and for information on how to apply.
In addition, we are pleased to announce the first events that will be held around Devcon in Bogotá, Which makes Devcon more than just a 4-day conference, but a full conference DEFCON WEEK expertise.
DEFCON WEEK Includes Ethereum-related events that occur during the official conference days from October 11 to 14. In honor of Devconnect’s decentralized organization, DEFCON WEEK It starts with the EthGlobal hackathon, ends with a community coworking space, and will include events like Schellingpoint and ETH Latam Day. We will post more events on DEFCON WEEK Schedule In the coming weeks!*
*This schedule does not include the many community events, meetups and social gatherings that will take place around Devcon. So expect another page soon with more on events run by the broader Ethereum community.
The Devcon Scholars program is back
We are excited to announce the return of the Devcon Scholars program!
If your attendance at Devcon VI can make a difference in the future of Ethereum, and you wouldn’t otherwise be able to attend due to cost, Please apply to the Scholars Program Between today and August 1.
Devcon is the perfect place for builders and collaborators, and an opportunity to bring new faces, places and communities to the group. However, some important developers in the Ethereum ecosystem face obstacles to attending Devcon (whether monetary or otherwise).
DEFCON Scholars Program Provides full support to facilitate access to Devcon for 50 individuals who have the potential to make a significant impact on Ethereum and its community, but are unable to attend without financial or other assistance. Scholars will receive Devcon tickets, funding for transportation, accommodation, per diem and visa application. The period leading up to and during Devcon DEFCON WEEKThere will be online and in-person meetings for researchers to get to know each other, learn and prepare for the best experience in Bogotá, Colombia.

The Devcon Scholars Program is for you if you believe your attendance at Devcon will make a difference in the future of Ethereum. We want Devcon Bogotá to be a hub for Ethereum innovation, and for that to happen, we need the most talented builders in our ecosystem, regardless of their circumstances.
Whether you are a creator, entrepreneur, community organizer, journalist, educator, researcher, or student, if you think your attendance at Devcon will make a difference in the future of Ethereum, please let us know how you plan to leverage this opportunity by filling out This application.
