The Euro left a small gap behind it at the opening of the new week:
The results of the first round of elections in France are cited.
The opinions I’ve seen (except for the politically biased ones that are best ignored) have ranged across the spectrum, from Macron’s improvement (or his side, to be precise) winning in the second round (which seems an unlikely outcome from here), to a hung parliament, to a right-wing victory Extreme.
The next round will be held on Sunday 7th.

Marine Le Pen’s far-right party recorded its highest ever turnout in this first round.
The left is also polling reasonably well, and is now manoeuvring to form alliances to prevent Le Pen from taking power. This is being cited as increasing the chance of a hung parliament.
