When Walmart opened its doors for the first time in 1962 in Rogers, Arkansas, Sam Walton’s founder could not imagine the change of his new store in the world.
But although he could not see the giant in which Wall Mart would grow in the future, Walton had a very clear vision: opening his stores in rural areas with a focus on low prices and good customer service.

Part of Walton’s plan was as possible as possible, clearly through the company’s rapid progress. By 1969, the company was formally merged and $ 12.7 billion sales were registered. It was already expanded, with 24 locations in Arkansas by 1967.
By 1968, Wall Mart was ready to move outside her mother mandate. It opened its next sites in Missouri and Akllahoma. By 1972, this number will be a basement to 51 stores, and Walmart will be publicly listed on the New York Stock Exchange.

The “eighties” celebrated a revolutionary change for Walmart, as sales of one billion dollars and the opening of the first SAM club in 1983. While Wall Mart changed quickly over the decades, it was worth noting that this is the year in which the series replaced regular cash records with computerized points, which proves that Walmart was ready to embrace future technology for a long time.
Now more than 40 years later, Walmart has another major change in the store that he just started going out. Knowing its history in adopting innovation, it is possible that it will change the life of customers for the better.
Walmart offers the first “store store”
Less than two years after the company revealed the initial models of the new store, the first was launched in Houston at Grand Parkway at 8927 Fry Road.
The new store features a modern appearance, but this is just the beginning of the changes you can expect when visiting. It was originally promised when Walmart shared the details for the first time in October 2023, the stores are now “active angles” that look like a peek at the person’s house, like a comfortable bedroom. These Lite LIFE slices feature the treatmentable QR codes to provide more information and help customers find the elements they see on the screens. Visitors to the new store will also notice that digital price stickers have replaced with paper designations in the corridors, allowing employees to update prices in minutes.
Another change of observation is the Walmart Pharmacy website, which is now at the front of the store and is larger than before (with a engine). The vision centers also expanded and offer a larger range of glasses, sunglasses and accessories.
There is also more new facilities, such as the mother’s room for breastfeeding or diaper changes and car care center for vehicle services.

Once you get out, you will notice changes there as well. Walmart added a dollar store with seasonal products – think about what you see when you walk in a goal – the Grab & Go section so that you can drink a drink or snack on your way out of the door.
The new store is the first Walmart opens in the Greater Houston region since 2018.
Although the “Future Store” may be the first, others are on the way. The next Texas sites will come to Fresco and Melissa, while Eagle Mountain, Utta and East Estfal, California, will get new stores this year. Walmart plans to create or convert 150 stores in total to the new coordination over the next few years.
“This store was built with the customer’s position,” said John Veer, President and CEO of Wall Mart. “It is part of a larger transformation that occurs through our stores and we re -imagine what it looks like to shop in the future. It explains what is possible when creating the intention.”
